A theft occurred in Clay County Florida that could lead to the arrest of a woman.
A news report on WOKV.com is just one of many news sources distributing the story to the media. The article stated:
“The Clay County Sheriff’s office is searching for a woman they believe stole a wallet from an elderly woman’s purse in Wal-mart. It all happened Friday at the Wal-mart on Blanding Avenue around 1pm. Detectives say the suspect stole the wallet out of 78-year-old Shirley Devin’s purse. Police determined the suspect used the victim’s credit cards at other stores and ran up a tab worth nearly $1300.00 dollars. Devin told police she realized her wallet was stolen and cancelled her cards but this all came after the charges were made.”
The woman’s picture has been broadcasted all over the internet on the local news websites in Northeast Florida. The news articles ask people with information or that may be able to identify the woman to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Department. Because of the video footage and media coverage, there is a good chance that this woman will be caught. If she is arrested, she is going to be facing a few felony charges ranging from Florida theft to credit card fraud. She could go to jail or prison for this. She may become a convicted felon. She will certainly have a Florida criminal record. She should speak with a Clay County lawyer. The police will try to question her. They will try to elicit a confession. A Jacksonville criminal defense attorney should be able to help her.
