Why Is My Florida Drivers License Suspended as Habitual Traffic Offender?

As a Jacksonville criminal lawyer, I have represented people arrested for driving while having a suspended or revoked license.  Jacksonville driving on a suspended license charges can be criminal.  If you are arrested as a FL habitual traffic offender, this may be a felony arrest.  A driving on a suspended license charge is not always a crime.  If you are given a Jacksonville traffic ticket, it may be a civil infraction.  This does not meant that it would not affect your Florida criminal record in the future.  It could affect your Florida criminal record if you are caught driving while your license is suspended again.

Many people are stopped by police officers for driving while their licenses are suspended.  A lot of people do not even know that their FL drivers licenses are suspended or revoked.  You may be wondering, “Why is my drivers license suspended?”  You should make a trip to the FL Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.  You need to get a copy of your driving record.  It is important to know why your license is suspended.  If you do not know how your license was suspended, how can you fix it?  As a Jacksonville driver license lawyer, I like to have a Florida driving record when I am deciding the route to take to fix it.  When I help someone obtain his or her drivers license, it helps me if I am able see the tickets that people have received in every county.  While I may be able to find tickets in one county, you could have something in another county that I do not know about.  You may have forgotten about a Florida ticket that you received years ago.  In order to get your Florida drivers license back, we must see the entire picture.

Your FL driving record will tell you if you are a Jacksonville habitual traffic offender.  Habitual traffic offenders must take a special approach when obtaining their drivers licenses.  You will likely need to reopen other cases.  Talk to a Jacksonville Florida attorney about this.  You may contact a Jacksonville lawyer with experience helping others obtain a valid license.  Call 20 Miles Law at 904-564-2525 or send and email by clicking on Contact Lawyers.  Read Why is my Florida Drivers License Suspended? on Jacksonville criminal defense lawyers blog for more information.
